Taxes & 1099s
Lasso handles partner tax collection and year-end reporting for you. Because Lasso is the party that sends payments to partners, partners provide their tax details to Lasso once, and that verified identity carries across every Lasso account they partner with, so they never re-submit it for a new partnership.
This page is for both partners (completing their tax setup) and admins (supporting partners through it). A partner needs their tax details on file before any payment can go out. See Partner payout & tax setup for the payout side.
What it does
When a partner sets up to be paid, Lasso collects the tax information it needs and guides them to the right form for who they are and where they’re based, so there’s nothing for them to look up in advance. Lasso then keeps that on file and takes care of year-end reporting, producing the appropriate tax documents for partners who were paid through Lasso during the year.
For admins, this means tax collection and reporting are handled as part of paying partners, rather than being a separate process you run yourself. Lasso makes it clear when a partner’s tax details are in good standing and when something needs their attention.
What you need first
- A partner account with access to payout and tax settings.
- A payout method set up alongside the tax details. See Partner payout & tax setup.
What you can configure
- Tax details: partners provide the information Lasso needs, guided to the correct form automatically.
- Keeping details current: Lasso prompts a partner when their tax details need renewing so payments keep flowing.
